“Living Stones” is an original congregational song written for Greystone Baptist Church, in honor of our 36th Heritage Sunday celebration. Composed in the form of a popular song, the text is written with a regular meter. This is envisioned as a Greystone theme song of sorts that can be adapted into many various musical styles, reflecting the diversity experienced in worship at Greystone. The text focuses on Greystone’s identity as a welcoming church that is also active in bringing the transformative, liberating love of Christ out into the wider community. It also speaks to how the Greystone community honors our tradition while also being unafraid to move forward into the future, evolving in our faith together. “Living Stones” highlights Greystone’s mission statement, “With Christ as the Cornerstone, we will build a church of living stones, where every member is a minister and is equipped to express God’s love by word and deed to all people.” Two videos are provided, one that teaches each part of the song as well as a lyric video of the complete song.
