This morning the Search Team for Minister of Worship, Music, and the Arts recommended that Greystone call Dr. Christian McIvor to join our Ministerial Staff Team.
The team was most impressed with Christian’s commitment to creativity and collaboration in worship planning, his eagerness to serve in any and all ministerial capacities – noting his strong desire to be with people during significant moments of their lives, and in his spirit of authenticity. Christian is a talented musician and singer / songwriter; he looks forward to sharing those gifts at Greystone and in the greater community.
Christian is excited about serving a church with a convergent style of worship, one that resists the labels of “contemporary” or “traditional,” but embraces the importance of all kinds of musical expression.
His experience as a music educator and ministerial leader will serve him well as Greystone seeks to become a strong community resource for the arts. His creative spirit will help us to expand our worship and our expressions of faith; and his care for all of God’s creation will ensure that we continue to live into our calling to love God and love our neighbors.
