The lazy days of summer are here, but in between the beach trips, pool days and summer camps there are a number of opportunities to stay connected with the Greystone community this summer.

All Ages

Sunday School (9:45am) and Worship (8:45am & 11am) will continue throughout the summer

Joint Worship Service (11am) – Sunday, July 5:  We will join together for one worship service on this holiday weekend.  In lieu of Adult and Children’s Sunday School, we will meet together at 9:30am for breakfast and a time of fellowship.  There will be Sunday School for preschoolers and babies.

Adult Choir will continue to rehearse during the summer months – Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm

Mission Trips

Santa Elena, Belize – June 6-13

Helena, Arkansas – July 13-20:  Together for Hope – All Church Challenge

Children

Summer Kickoff – Monday, June 8, 7pm

Families are invited to meet at Goodberry’s at 9700 Strickland Road (Harvest Plaza Shopping Center) to celebrate the start of summer with a cool sweet treat.

Wonderful Wednesdays

Back by popular demand, children of all ages and their parents/caregivers are invited to meet for fun and fellowship on select Wednesday mornings or evenings throughout the summer.

  • June 17 – Picnic Dinner at Church – Bring a bag supper and meet at the picnic tables (Lead Mine parking lot).  We’ll enjoy a meal and time of outdoor play on the playground and field.
  • July 1 – Movies at Regal North Hills Stadium 14 – Movie choices are Paddington and Turbo.
  • July 8 – Bowling at Buffaloe Lanes
  • July 15 – Movie at Six Forks Cinema – Penguins of Madagascar
  • July 22 – Picnic Dinner at the Park – Time and Location TBD
  • July 29 – Chuck E. Cheese – Beat the heat with a morning of arcade fun!

Family Picnic & Movie Night/VBS Kickoff

Sunday, August 2 – Time TBD – Bring your blanket and your picnic supper and join us for a movie under the stars.  In keeping with our VBS theme – Mt. Everest – we’ll be showing Ice Age.

Vacation Bible School

Thursday, August 6 – Sunday August 9

Get ready for an icy expedition climbing Mt. Everest, where we will learn all about conquering challenges with God’s mighty power. More details.

PASSPORT Kids Camp

June 24-27 – A group of 14 GBC kids and chaperones will travel to Converse College in Spartanburg, SC for four days of bible study, hands-on missions education, recreation and worship.

Youth & College

Summer Youth Fellowship–  Wednesdays each week beginning June 10

Summer College Fellowship – Tuesdays each week beginning on May 12

Both the Youth and College programs will rotate between Bible study, missions projects and fellowship activities.

Youth Mission Trip – June 21-26.  Middle and High School students will have the opportunity to travel to Greenville, SC to partner with several other youth groups and the local community on projects in the Nicholtown neighborhood.

Unidiversity Youth Camp – July 20-25.  Middle and High school students will have the opportunity to join students from over 20 churches across the Southeast at the University of Tennessee for a week of Bible study, worship and recreation.  During the week, we’ll explore the theme – It’s Complicated.
