We are proud to share with you that the Baptist Women in Ministry, NC (BWIMNC) has presented this year’s Anne Thomas Neil Award to Greystone member, Lou Dawson. This award is presented each year to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of women in ministry.
As a lay leader, Lou has been an integral part of Greystone’s ministry and an exemplary model of our mission statement “… where every member is a minister”. The writer of Ecclesiastes puts it this way: whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might. Lou is a dedicated worker in several ministries and committees. She has worked in preschool, children, youth, and adult ministries, serving in the classroom and on planning teams. She has served on three staff search committees calling women in each circumstance.
With a heart for missions and outreach, when CBF called for churches to go to Helena, AR, Lou formed and led a team every year. She led youth to participate in a homework help program at a local elementary school, currently serves as a homework helper with Refugee Hope Partners, and is teaching ESL in the Wyatt Welcome House Ministry.
Join us in celebrating with Lou on receiving this well-deserved award. You can use the link below to watch the BWIMNC 2020 Symposium and the presentation of this prestigious award to Lou. Our own Minister of Worship, Music and the Arts, Christian McIver, provided the music in the service.
