We look forward to our choir leading worship this Sunday as they perform this year’s Easter cantata, Joel Raney’s “I Am the Lord of the Dance.” Sydney Carter’s classic hymn, “Lord of the Dance,” is a metaphor of the life of Christ. In beautiful, poetic language, Carter describes Jesus as The Piper, calling his followers to the dance of life. Joel Raney’s cantata is an elaboration on that hymn, through which the story from John 3:16 is retold, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.” Join us for this inspirational Eastertide worship service! If you would like to prepare ahead, the scripture reading for Sunday will be John 3:16-17; John 1:4.
