Grey skies and cool temperatures couldn’t dampen the spirits of the church members, preschool families and neighbors that came out to celebrate with a morning of fun at Greystone’s Spring Carnival on Saturday. While sunshine remained elusive, smiles, laughter and sticky hands were abundant as children of all ages enjoyed a bounce house, games, sno cones and popcorn. In celebration of Earth Day, children crafted planters from recycled plastic bottles, planting a variety of fresh herbs to take home and add to their Spring gardens. A cake walk provided a fun, friendly competition for a bountiful selection of homemade confections, and our friendly community helpers from the Raleigh Fire Department Engine Company #4 shared important fire safety information, while kids and adults explored all of the tools and gadgets of their trade in the fire engine.
Greystone strives to be a place for community – a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can find a place to grow and learn, worship, serve and fellowship together. We are happy so many of our neighbors and community members were able to join us for a fun morning of celebrating Spring. If you missed us this time, we hope you will find an opportunity to join us at another time. Summer is just around the corner, and we are planning a number of opportunities for children and families, including Vacation Bible School which will take place August 6-9. For more information about our ministries to children and their families, see our Children’s Ministry page. For up-to-date information about events and activities or for a weekly schedule, check out our church calendar or follow us on Facebook.
Special thanks to all of our Spring Carnival volunteers and to congregation members for their generous donations of baked goods and craft supplies. We also express our sincere gratitude to the firemen of Raleigh Fire Department Engine Company #4 for taking time out of your morning to join us!
