Variety of Projects Highlight Youth Mission Trip

While many students celebrate the end of the school year with a trip to the beach or simply being lazy, a team of youth and adults from Greystone Baptist Church spent their first days of summer in Red Springs, NC participating in flood relief work following the damage from Hurricane Matthew in October 2016.  The group departed from Raleigh on Wednesday afternoon, June 14 to have 3 full days of hard work before returning to Raleigh after church on Sunday, June 18.

One project was to install sheet rock at a home damaged by flooding.

Another project was to install hardwood flooring in a home damaged by flooding.

In addition, the group spent time on 3 different afternoons at the My Refuge Soup Kitchen helping to package canned goods and serve dinner.

And, the group visited Grace Courts Apartment Complex to spend time with the mothers and children who reside there.

It was a wonderful week of fellowship and service for all involved.  The group is grateful for the support of Greystone Baptist Church who sponsored the trip.
