Centering Prayer is a receptive method of contemplative Christian silent prayer which is focused on resting in the presence of God. The practice is quite simple and has the potential to deepen our relationship with God and the world around us.
We have a Centering Prayer group here at GBC that is meeting regularly on 1st and 3rd Thursday mornings from 11am-12pm in the Gathering Room. Our time together typically involves a brief book discussion (we are currently reading Fr. Thomas Keating’s Open Mind, Open Heart) and then 10-20 minutes of Centering Prayer practice. All are welcome to participate and while reading the agreed-upon texts is encouraged, it’s not required. Please feel free to come if you’d like to participate.
