Christmas Comes Early

With the help of numerous Greystone elves, Christmas came December 5 for our Buddy Break families.  At our annual Buddy Break Christmas Party, 15 families with over 30 children eagerly awaited their visit with Santa (who brought Mrs. Claus and their favorite elf).  They also had fun making Christmas crafts, decorating cookies, singing Christmas songs and spending time with their buddies.

Christmas came early for these precious children and it was evident in their excitement and the joy on their faces. Parents and grandparents were able to have food and fellowship with our volunteers and other Buddy Break families as  we celebrated the story of Jesus through music and games.

Yes, Christmas came early this year and as I write this, I realize it came early for me as well.  Every hug I shared, every smile I saw, and every thank you I heard that day felt like a beautifully wrapped gift of love and that is all I really want for Christmas!

Buddy Break is a free monthly respite program for families who have children with special needs.  Volunteers are needed to help provide this ministry.  To learn more about Buddy Break or how you can volunteer, please visit our web page or call Nancy Register at 919-219-1438.
