Position Announcement: Minister of Worship, Music, and the Arts

Greystone Baptist Church, located in a diverse, growing area of North Raleigh, NC, is prayerfully seeking a full-time Minister of Worship, Music, and the Arts. GBC is affiliated with the Raleigh Baptist Association, CBF-NC/National, and partners with these and other local ministries for mission opportunities for our 750+ members (average worship attendance of 220). Our church affirms/ordains men and women to serve in all roles within the church, including those of deacon and minister.

Greystone has a vibrant and rich musical heritage that includes a graded music program for children, a youth choir, adult choir, handbells, and other ensembles. Worship at Greystone is contextual, utilizing the diverse musical gifts of the congregation and is grounded in the scripture readings of the Revised Common Lectionary and the seasons of the Christian Year.

We are seeking a worship leader who is willing to share his/her musical, creative, teaching and pastoral gifts as part of our ministerial team. The candidate will bring an understanding and appreciation for a broad spectrum of musical genres and artistic expressions. He/she would collaborate with musicians and members in developing, planning, and directing inspirational music that will enhance our worship. As part of the ministerial team, this individual would work with lay leadership in all areas of ministry in the day-to-day life of the Church.

Candidates should be outstanding musicians with church worship leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree and experience in music ministry, conducting, and worship leadership required. Graduate degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school with a concentration in church music (or similar training) preferred.
