History

Greystone Baptist Church began as a “mission of faith” in 1983 when seventeen devoted and loving Christians from First Baptist Church in Raleigh saw a need and opportunity for a new Baptist church in North Raleigh. The new church met in temporary facilities until God provided the present location on Lead Mine Road in 1986.

At Greystone, we believe that every church member has a ministry, and we encourage every member to bring his or her gifts and abilities to the life of the church and to the service of God’s kingdom. We are free and faithful Baptists, prayerfully seeking God’s direction for our life together.

Book: “Where Every Member Is A Minister”

Copies of “Where Every Member is a Minister” by Dr. Roger Crook are available for purchase from the church office. This history of Greystone’s first 20 years is a delightful compilation of the faithful and effective witness of this church and her members. Copies may also be borrowed from the Media Center.
