Upcoming studies on Wednesday nights this fall

Bible

Please join us on Wednesday Nights at 6:20 PM in the West Wing starting September 7 for a time of prayer and Bible study. Our Pastor will lead a series entitled, “What Do We Believe?” This study will reflect on biblical and theological issues that church members have struggled with through the ages. Bring your Bibles and your questions and your beliefs. But most of all bring an open heart ready to explore.

Also joining us in September will be Natalie Aho. Natalie has spent over twelve years as a professional in communications and another four years as an educator. She is employed as a communications specialist for Baptist News Global, Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Center for Healthy Churches. As a minister, writer, mother, wife and friend, she will lead us in a series of conversations about how we listen, watch and read the news as people of faith. Karl Barth once said, “The Pastor and the Faithful . . . still need – according to my old formulation – the Bible and the Newspaper.” How do we faithfully balance being informed but not overwhelmed, thoughtful but not provoked, compassionate and not cynical? Come and hear from someone who lives this struggle every day. Consider bringing a friend.
